I received Sibella Court’s new book Bowerbird for Christmas and enjoyed reading it at home on the sofa in the last few days I had off work last week. Crammed full of inspirational ways to display the things you collect, the book explains how Sibella arranges and re arranges her own personal collections as they grow, to display and store each item. Full of unusual ways to share your belongings the book made me want to collect more than I all ready do! I often rearrange my things at home depending on any new additional furniture or tidy away old things to make room for the belongings I feel for more at the tme. A cheap Ikea table goes to make room for a large pine one we found on the street and the fire-place is rearranged after a small vintage barbecue stands in for a make shift fire grate…I dont think I will ever stop changing our flat, every time I do it just makes me like it more…full of individually found objects and furniture from various days out, full of memories. Each item has a story to tell. After reading the book cover it made me just want to have a good rummage in a junk shop and see what else I can find….
