The BP Awards at The National Portrait Gallery

I went to the BP awards today at The National Portrait Gallery and it was absolutely fantastic! A perfect place to spend a wet afternoon.

So here is a selection of the paintings that I stood in front of  (far too close for far too long I will add)….unable to take my eyes off the intricate work and tiny brush strokes…

The attention to detail in this painting on the fabric and the fine fur on the dalmation was incredable...

I loved the urban feel of this painting and the textures created

A life like quality made up of tiny brush strokes and a fasinating intricate detail up close, my personal favourite.

Captures the lightness of the fabric and portrays the inner calm of the subject really well...

Almost photographic. Image has almost a wet look yet captures the slightly blured sparkle you get on camera with the make up... outstanding!

BP Awards at The National Portrait Gallery on until 18th September…
